Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
In the pool, and watching
An adult is in the water with every child in every class, and the instructor teaches from the water or from the step. Anyone who isn't in the water, brothers and sisters included, watches from the bench by the glass. Nothing replaces adult supervision, so a grown-up stays within reach of a child at the pool before and after class too.
What to wear and bring
Children under 3 wear a snug swim diaper under a swim shirt or a swimsuit, and we ask you to bring a spare. Grown-ups wear ordinary swimwear or a swim top, and swim shirts are welcome on everyone. Tie long hair back, and bring a towel for each of you and a warm layer for afterward.
When to keep your child home
Please keep your child home with a fever, a stomach bug, a new rash or any illness that spreads, and for a day after they feel well again. Call us and we will find a make-up for the class.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for the main holidays and when the pool needs maintenance. We tell families by text and email the day before when we can, and a class we cancel is made up in the same series or credited to the next.
Leaving the program
Tell us a week before the next series starts and we will hold your place for the series after it, or release it. A series in progress runs to its sixth week.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in the bag at the pool. A grown-up in the water has both hands for the baby, and a grown-up on the bench watches the water rather than a screen.
Brothers, sisters and friends
Brothers and sisters are welcome on the bench by the glass, with a grown-up who isn't in the water. Grandparents and friends are welcome to watch as well; tell the front desk if a group is coming.
