Your baby's first class
From the front door to the water, in four steps
Every class follows the same shape, so a first class feels like the second.
Step 1: Arrive and rinse
Come a few minutes early. Shoes go in the cubbies, and you and your baby rinse at the showers before the pool.
Step 2: Get in together
You get in by the steps, where the water is shallow and warm. The instructor is on the step beside you and shows you how to hold your baby.
Step 3: Songs, floating and play
For 30 minutes we sing, float with support, splash and move through the water together. If your baby has had enough, we get out and try another day.
Step 4: Out, warm and dry
Wrap up in a towel and sit down in the studio beside the pool for a quiet minute before you head home.
In the water
Songs, a circle and an instructor on the step
Every class opens with a hello song while everyone sits on the step. Then we float, splash and play with toys, and the instructor shows each grown-up how to hold and support their child.
A hello song and a goodbye song
Floating with support
Toys to reach for and pour
